Cloud Backend Engineer

Location: On-site in Wessling, Bavaria, Germany; mobile work is available for one flexible day per week.

What you will do

• Build a central source of truth for device identities, software versions, configurations, and fleet health.
• Develop secure backend services and APIs connecting interceptors, launch boxes, and support systems.
• Create resilient communication workflows for devices operating with intermittent connectivity.
• Automate the upload and processing of flight logs, telemetry, video, and sensor data.
• Build data pipelines, dashboards, and alerts to help engineers identify and resolve issues.
• Connect flight data with software, hardware configuration, and mission context.

Requirements

• Experience in cloud, backend, data-platform, IoT, or distributed-systems engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or a comparable language.
• Experience with APIs, databases, object storage, message queues, or data pipelines.
• Familiarity with telemetry, observability, monitoring, or connected-device systems.
• Hands-on ability, strong engineering fundamentals, and ownership of reliable services.
• Ability to work on-site in Wessling, Germany, with limited remote flexibility.
