TL;DR
Senior AI Software Engineer (Python/AWS/GenAI): Building scalable backend services, AI-powered features, and data pipelines for an investment product combining real-time market data, news, and GenAI with an accent on end-to-end ownership, pragmatic architecture, and production reliability. Focus on evaluating when LLMs outperform conventional ML or heuristics, deploying cloud systems on AWS, and improving observability and performance.
Location: Remote from Karlsruhe, Berlin, Munich, or Hamburg, Germany; in-person workshops and team events take place several times a year in Karlsruhe. Up to 15 days of workation within the EU per calendar year is available.

What you will do
- Build and ship AI-powered full-stack products from idea through production.
- Develop scalable backend services with Python and FastAPI.
- Design, deploy, and operate production systems on AWS.
- Make architecture and technical decisions and contribute to code reviews.
- Build practical GenAI solutions and evaluate when LLMs provide value over traditional ML models or heuristics.
- Own reliability, observability, and performance, while using AI coding tools to improve development workflows.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience with a strong record of shipping production software.
- Strong Python skills and hands-on AWS or comparable cloud-provider experience.
- Practical GenAI and AI-assisted development experience.
- Experience with FastAPI, cloud architecture, and production systems.
- End-to-end ownership from architecture and coding through deployment and production operations.
- Independent technical decision-making, strong communication, and a pragmatic engineering mindset.
Nice to have
- Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code experience.
- TypeScript, Angular, or React experience.
- Microservices and data pipeline experience.
- Experience with finance, markets, trading, or investment products.
