Senior Electrical Engineer (UAV)

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and system-level design of complex electrical systems for UAS, payload, and sensing hardware.
• Design and prototype power distribution, sensor interface, payload controller, and communication PCBs using Altium.
• Assemble, debug, and validate boards, including test procedures and fixtures for flight-condition reliability.
• Lead hardware designs from concept through manufacturing, including fabrication, assembly, DFM, and DFT documentation.
• Develop and debug embedded software, low-level drivers, communication interfaces, and real-time control loops.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, research, and manufacturing engineers while mentoring engineers and leading technical reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated technical ability with 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
• 4+ years of professional PCB design experience with Altium or an equivalent tool, including digital, mixed-signal, and analog front-end designs.
• Experience taking hardware from concept through manufacturing and working directly with contract manufacturers.
• Deep experience with embedded platforms and microcontrollers, including Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, STM32, ESP32, or RP2040.
• Experience with high-speed digital design, power integrity, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, board bring-up, debugging, and interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
• Embedded programming experience in C++, C, Rust, or Python.

Nice to have

• Experience designing 10 kW electrical systems, UAV electrical systems, power electronics, BLDC motor controllers, ESCs, or battery management systems.
• Experience with Pixhawk, ArduPilot, custom autopilot hardware, LiPo, lithium-ion, or solid-state battery integration and safety.
• Knowledge of RF systems, telemetry radios, SATCOM, datalinks, and antenna integration.
