TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and validating analog, power, mixed-signal, data, and embedded systems for imaging satellites with an accent on PCBAs, harnesses, power integrity, and EMC. Focus on taking spacecraft electrical designs from architecture and schematic capture through manufacturing, bring-up, integration testing, and qualification in demanding space environments.

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA, with work from the San Francisco office 3 days per week and up to 25% travel to the Berlin office.

Salary: $114,200–$142,700 USD annual base salary for the San Francisco location.

What you will do

  • Lead electrical design of analog, power, and mixed-signal subsystems from requirements through detailed design.
  • Perform schematic capture, power and signal integrity simulations, and layout reviews.
  • Design electrical harnesses, define signals and components, coordinate mechanical interfaces, and prepare fabrication drawings.
  • Validate and debug designs during bring-up and support integration testing.
  • Develop power supplies, perform power integrity checks, and ensure electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and qualification teams to develop satellite factory tests.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience taking electrical designs from schematics through manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field.
  • Experience with power converters and analog and mixed-signal PCB design.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters, plus proficient solder rework skills.
  • Comfort working with embedded systems and interfaces such as I2C, SPI, USB, CAN, and Ethernet.
  • Ability to make design and implementation decisions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Altium PCB design tools.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
