Principle Engineer

Location: Remote options available in the United States, Canada, and the Americas; preference for candidates located in or aligned with the Pacific Time (PT) zone.

Salary: United States base pay ranges from $174,051–$273,775 depending on geographic pay zone; Canada base pay ranges from CA$172,800–CA$225,600.

What you will do

• Tackle the largest and most complex engineering problems from technical design through launch.
• Provide technical leadership for high-impact projects and define plans for large initiatives.
• Design scalable architectures and apply architectural standards across new projects.
• Lead company-wide initiatives spanning multiple Engineering teams.
• Raise engineering standards and share best practices across hirify.global.
• Mentor and develop the next generation of technical leaders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Experience with one or more prominent languages or technologies such as JavaScript, React, Java, Kotlin, Scala, or Node.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Deep systems engineering experience at scale, including testing, reliability, security, and observability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating with and mentoring junior team members, plus familiarity with A/B testing techniques.
