Senior Fullstack Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

Location: Remote from the USA for residents of CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA. Hybrid work is available through offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL. Onsite interviews may be required. Chicago city limits are excluded.

Base salary for roles based in California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, or Washington: $150,000–$200,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design and build REST and/or GraphQL API layers for the product data experience.
• Develop Java backend services that expose data-driven insights and scoring.
• Build and maintain React UI components for dashboards and workflows.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews while taking the product from early stage to general availability.
• Troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, and traces.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and cross-team engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Java software development experience for product applications or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of React frontend development experience.
• At least 4 years of experience with highly scalable software systems.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, scalable data structures, API best practices, SQL, and relational databases.
• Expertise in quality testing practices, including frontend testing frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant computer science or engineering field, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Kotlin, GraphQL, or gRPC experience.
• Exposure to distributed or streaming data concepts.
