SoC Development Engineer (ASIC/SoC)

Salary: CAD 134,000–201,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and verify functional units, subsystems, IP, and full-chip SoC designs for SSD products.
• Collaborate on microarchitecture, verification strategy, logic design, and system simulation based on system requirements and customer feature requests.
• Develop and review test and execution plans for semiconductor products.
• Apply UVM, firmware co-simulation, formal property verification, and other industry-standard methodologies.
• Execute the SoC design flow from high-level synthesis through place and route, timing, and power analysis.
• Investigate new tools and technologies and contribute to complex integrated-circuit designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Experience with digital logic design and implementation in advanced technology nodes.
• Experience with functional verification and methodologies such as UVM and formal property verification.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, stakeholder-management, and project-planning skills.
• Programming or hardware-description experience with C, C++, Python, Java, Verilog, VHDL, and/or SystemVerilog.
• Ability to identify risks, balance competing priorities, and deliver predictable project outcomes.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of ASIC/SoC development experience or equivalent, plus an advanced degree.
• Experience with synthesis, DFT, STA, UPF, ECO, low-power design, and standard ASIC/SoC flows.
• Knowledge of NVMe, PCIe, DDR, ARM, big-box emulation platforms, or Atlassian tools.
• Experience architecting and leading IP- or SoC-level verification efforts.
