hirify.global develops Terran R, a reusable launch vehicle designed to deliver customer payloads to orbit and expand commercial launch capacity.

What you will do

  • Own materials and processes engineering for Terran R avionics electrical and mechanical hardware.
  • Qualify avionics materials and processes for flight and reuse.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain technical specifications and engineering standards.
  • Lead statistically driven experimental design and process improvement campaigns.
  • Support material selection, design, analysis, qualification, inspections, failure analysis, flight, and reuse activities.
  • Collaborate with materials, laboratory, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, customer fracture control, and leadership teams to resolve risks and enable reliable, cost-effective production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in materials science, materials engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant avionics materials and processes experience.
  • Experience with material selection, process development, qualification, damage tolerance, inspections, risk assessments, and failure analysis.
  • Commitment to accountability, collaboration, execution, and interdisciplinary relationship-building.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly iterating avionics products and processes.

Nice to have

  • Experience owning aerospace avionics materials and processes through the full product lifecycle.
  • Expertise in printed circuit board assembly, conformal coating, soldering, underfill, staking, and board cleaning processes.
  • Knowledge of structural and electronic avionics materials, battery assembly, joining, dispensing, and thermal interface processes.
  • Knowledge of NASA, J-STD, IPC, SMC, or TOR standards.
  • Experience with statistical experimental design and data analysis.
