Forward Deployed Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Remote in South Korea or Japan; hybrid or remote options may also be explored. Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers as needed.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end deployment, configuration, testing, and operation of autonomous systems in customer environments.
• Troubleshoot technical issues across software, hardware, and networking layers to maintain uptime and mission success.
• Collect and analyze field feedback, implement monitoring and diagnostic tools, and improve system reliability and performance.
• Train and support customer operators, translate technical concepts into actionable workflows, and accelerate adoption.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, AI research, product, and engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Build scalable deployment practices and playbooks for future customer rollouts.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–3 years of software engineering or systems integration experience in the field robotics industry.
• Experience deploying complex technical systems in real-world environments.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Git, and ROS.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.

Nice to have

• Experience operating or maintaining mission-critical systems in real-world environments.
• Experience with Jira, Wrike, Confluence, or similar program management tools.
• Experience working directly with customers in high-stakes, fast-paced settings.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
