Senior Principal Engineer (Semiconductor Technology)

Location: Hybrid role based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, with partial work from home and travel within Japan and internationally.

What you will do

• Build and manage strategic relationships with OEMs, IDMs, consortia, universities, and other technology partners in Japan.
• Drive roadmap alignment between hirify.global business units, technology offerings, OEM tools, and device manufacturers.
• Identify customer and industry technical needs and translate them into product and technology opportunities.
• Create technical engagement plans and initiate collaborations involving precursors, filters, coatings, polishing slurries, and polishing pads.
• Lead cross-functional projects with R&D engineers, technologists, business unit leaders, field support, and marketing teams in Japan and the USA.
• Support external research partnerships and merge OEM strategies across Japan and the USA.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Science, or an equivalent technical field; Ph.D. preferred.
• 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience, preferably with an equipment or device manufacturer.
• In-depth knowledge of semiconductor process technology and semiconductor equipment.
• Project management experience delivering initiatives across multiple organizations and time zones.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English, including the ability to create and present technical materials.
• Ability to build business relationships, work collaboratively, and independently drive technology initiatives.
