Facilities HVAC / Refrigeration Maintenance Tech Lead

Location: On-site at the Normandale campus supporting operations in Bloomington, Minnesota, United States

Salary: $37.30–$49.29 per hour, with a 10% premium for leading the HVAC technician team.

hirify.global operates a highly technical, 700,000-plus-square-foot Recording Head development and manufacturing facility running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What you will do

• Lead HVAC technicians in daily activities and coordinate work with management, engineers, project managers, contractors, vendors, and internal customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and installations on heating and air-conditioning equipment, including MAUs, RTUs, FCUs, boilers, pumps, motors, AHUs, VAVs, supply fans, exhausters, and air scrubbers.
• Maintain building chillers and production refrigeration systems, including compressors, fans, coils, and piping.
• Use the Johnson Controls building automation system to monitor equipment, troubleshoot faults, and respond to alarms.
• Create work orders, manage parts and tool inventory, submit purchase requisitions, and document preventive maintenance and service requests in the CMMS.
• Respond to emergency equipment failures, spills, and leaks; perform minor plumbing, safety inspection, grounds, and environmental compliance duties.

Requirements

• HVAC certification training, at least two years of experience, or equivalent formal apprenticeship training in HVAC operation and troubleshooting.
• CFC certification required.
• Boiler license required, or willingness to obtain it within six months.
• Ability to work independently, at heights, and lift up to 50 pounds; ability to distinguish between low and high voltage.
• Strong customer service, organization, documentation, attention to detail, communication, and process-following skills.
• Availability for emergency calls, 10-hour shifts, occasional overtime, and occasional holidays.

Nice to have

• Johnson Controls experience.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Associate degree in HVAC or technical college training.
