Lead Building Engineer (HVAC)

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota, United States; area/location-specific information also lists St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Onsite role with after-hours and weekend on-call coverage.

Hourly range: $26.00–$45.00.

What you will do

• Maintain and review daily operating logs for air-conditioning systems, fan units, utility meters, graph charts, and general complaints.
• Respond to tenant service requests and ensure building systems operate efficiently and economically.
• Prioritize and assign work orders to Building Engineers and follow up to minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections, alarm testing, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Support annual budgeting and the RFP process for budgeted projects.
• Manage inventories, records, schedules, suppliers, property managers, and department relationships.

Requirements

• At least five years of building, property maintenance, or engineering experience.
• Minnesota 2nd Class Grade C Boiler Operator license required.
• Refrigeration Universal Recovery Certificate required.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems, cooling towers, boilers, and other mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, plus work-order and preventative-maintenance software.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available. A valid driver’s license and required jurisdictional licenses are also needed.
