Lead Building Engineer (HVAC)

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota, United States; area/location-specific information also lists St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Onsite role with after-hours and weekend on-call responsibilities.

Salary: $26.00–$45.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Maintain and review daily operating logs for air conditioning, fan units, utility meters, graph charts, and general complaints.
• Coordinate tenant service requests and building-system work orders for efficient, cost-effective resolution.
• Prioritize and assign work to Building Engineers and follow up to minimize downtime.
• Conduct inspections, alarm testing, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Support annual budgeting and the RFP process for budgeted projects.
• Manage relationships with property managers, suppliers, and department leaders while maintaining inventories, records, and schedules.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of building, property maintenance, or engineering experience.
• Minnesota 2nd Class Grade C Boiler Operator license required.
• Refrigeration Universal Recovery Certificate required.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems, cooling towers, boilers, and other building mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, plus work-order and preventive-maintenance software.
• Valid driver’s license, strong organizational and communication skills, and flexibility for emergency on-call coverage.
