Senior Software Engineer (RF)

hirify.global is building a maritime intelligence platform that combines HD video, AI, radar, RF sensing, and AIS to provide real-time maritime domain awareness for defense agencies, coast guards, and commercial maritime operators.

What you will do

• Design and maintain high-performance Rust, C, and C++ software across edge devices and cloud services.
• Build hardware-aware applications for SDR hardware, FPGA fabric, and embedded Linux on resource-constrained SmartMast units.
• Develop reliable streaming paths for IQ samples, detection events, and metadata from hardware drivers through cloud upload.
• Build and operate cloud data pipelines for high-bandwidth RF captures and telemetry from a distributed sensor fleet.
• Work with customers and RF/DSP engineers to translate operational needs and prototypes into production-ready solutions.
• Own device provisioning, releases, remote monitoring, testing, field deployment support, and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience with compiled native languages; production Rust experience is strongly preferred.
• Systems-level development on embedded Linux, including device drivers, memory-mapped I/O, DMA, and performance optimization.
• Experience with IP networking and custom TCP/UDP protocols.
• Experience building large-scale cloud data pipelines for high-volume or streaming data; AWS experience is preferred.
• 2+ years working with or alongside RF, SDR, or wireless communications software, plus an active U.S. security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.

Nice to have

• Experience with GNU Radio, UHD/USRP, libiio, VITA 49, or SigMF.
• Exposure to FPGA-based SoCs such as Xilinx Zynq/MPSoC.
• Background in digital signal processing, GNSS timing and geolocation, defense, maritime, or government programs.
