Mechanical Product Design Engineer II (Powertrain)

Location: Portland, OR, US. Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week in the office and 1 day remote. Applicants may work in or relocate to Portland; relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $86,000–$110,000 USD annually, dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Design and develop coolant system plumbing and vent lines for powertrain applications.
• Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and GD&T using Siemens NX and related tools.
• Develop effective solutions throughout the product development cycle, including responses to plant-build issues, custom work orders, and customer field concerns.
• Improve product quality, engineering tools, processes, cost, and design complexity.
• Collaborate with product design, validation engineering, compliance, manufacturing, sales, and marketing teams.
• Work with multi-tier suppliers to ensure designs meet specifications, engineering practices, customer expectations, and government regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience leading technical problem solving from root cause through completion.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining quality and follow through independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of upstream and downstream engineering processes.
• Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States at the time of application; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with DTNA systems such as PLATON, IMACS+, or ERS+.
• Experience using Siemens NX for solid modeling, including tubing, casting, and stamping.
