Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States, or Novi, Michigan, United States. Requires 4–5 days per week in the office, regular in-person meetings and events, and travel to suppliers, manufacturing, and testing facilities.
Base salary: $110,000–$135,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do
- Support the Main System Lead in coordinating delivery across the Metals Body Systems portfolio, including body-in-white, underbody structures, closures, doors, hood, liftgate, and structural components.
- Act as the central integration point between System Engineering Team leaders and Product, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, and Logistics stakeholders.
- Drive transparency across technical status, timing, cost, quality, sourcing, dependencies, and risks.
- Prepare governance topics, readiness assessments, technical reviews, escalation materials, and decision-ready leadership content.
- Consolidate status reporting, monitor milestones and sourcing readiness, and maintain visibility of open issues and mitigation plans.
- Track decisions and commitments, facilitate cross-functional issue resolution, and support closure of program risks and action items.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering, program management, systems engineering, or vehicle development.
- Experience in cross-functional vehicle development organizations and a strong understanding of automotive product development and launch processes.
- Ability to influence without direct authority, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and communicate clearly.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with willingness to travel to suppliers, manufacturing, and testing facilities.
- Ability to work in the Charlotte or Novi office 4–5 days per week is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with body systems, interiors, exteriors, vehicle integration, or engineering program management.
- Knowledge of VW Group tools and processes.
- Experience with engineering governance, vehicle development milestones, sourcing, launch readiness, timing management, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.
