Operations Leader

Location: Based at the South Elmsall Warehouse, Pontefract area, United Kingdom. Night shift available Wednesday/Thursday to Saturday, 18:00–06:00.

Salary: £15.78 per hour plus applicable shift premiums.

What you will do

• Lead night shifts through pre-shift briefings, handovers, task clarification, and team motivation.
• Monitor UPH, CPU, and other performance indicators to support the 97% OTIF target.
• Conduct weekly performance discussions, return-to-work interviews, and fair absence or disciplinary processes.
• Maintain daily planners and target monitors, recording hours worked across the operational area.
• Complete floorwalks, safety observations, and accident investigations to maintain a safe warehouse.
• Use Yapster and internal chat to provide real-time updates and resolve operational issues.

Requirements

• Supervisory experience, ideally in a distribution or warehouse environment.
• Clear verbal communication and the ability to write concise reports.
• Comfort working with numbers and interpreting performance data.
• Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to lead by example under pressure.
• Computer literacy, a valid driving licence, and experience solving day-to-day operational problems.
• Ability to work the stated night-shift schedule at the South Elmsall Warehouse.
