Sr Designer, Printed Wiring Board (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Irvine, California, United States

Annual salary: $95,000–$130,000, plus target bonus/incentive pay of 10% of annual base salary.

What you will do

• Design and develop complex multilayer printed wiring board layouts for new product development and sustaining engineering.
• Optimize board designs for electrical performance, manufacturability, reliability, cost, and product quality.
• Prepare and maintain PCB design documentation, engineering releases, and manufacturing deliverables.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, Design for Test, and applicable IPC standards.
• Partner with Engineering teams to deliver high-performance, manufacturable electronic hardware from concept through production.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of printed wiring board or PCB design experience in a product development environment.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency with PCB CAD tools such as PADS, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or equivalent.
• Experience designing multilayer, high-density, and mixed-signal circuit boards.
• Knowledge of IPC standards, PCB manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturability.
• Ability to work on-site in Irvine, California.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical devices or other regulated industries.
• Experience with rigid-flex PCB design, HDI technologies, and high-speed digital layouts.
• Familiarity with signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI, and mechanical integration.
• Experience with database maintenance.
