Senior Electrical Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Oakland, California, United States; onsite at the Oakland facility

What you will do

• Lead architecture, design, analysis, integration, and verification of analog, digital, mixed-signal, RF/wireless, and power-management circuits.
• Own schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM development, component selection, documentation, and design releases using Altium Designer.
• Lead hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, characterization, validation, and design verification testing.
• Integrate I²C, UART, SPI, USB, BLE, and other wired or wireless communication interfaces.
• Specify and troubleshoot transducers and electromechanical components, including sensors, motors, displays, batteries, chargers, and audio components.
• Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, supply-chain, and supplier teams on manufacturable and reliable designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 7+ years of electronic hardware design and development experience, preferably in medical devices, wearables, consumer electronics, robotics, or other regulated products.
• Expertise in analog, digital, mixed-signal, low-power, and power-management circuit design.
• Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer, schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM management, and design release processes.
• Strong experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems architecture, board-level interfaces, peripheral integration, and common embedded communication protocols.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and other laboratory equipment, plus experience with root-cause analysis, verification testing, and regulated design documentation.

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with medical-device design controls, risk management, verification testing, and regulated product development.
