Senior PCB Designer (Medical Instrumentation)

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 annually

What you will do

• Create and maintain multilayer rigid and rigid-flex PCB layouts, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, drill files, and manufacturing data packages.
• Develop controlled-impedance and high-speed differential routing with length matching, return-path control, and signal-integrity practices.
• Design layouts for high-speed digital, precision analog, mixed-signal, power, RF, wireless, sensor, and embedded-processor circuitry.
• Apply grounding, partitioning, shielding, filtering, isolation, EMC, ESD, thermal, and design-for-test principles.
• Perform design-rule checks, manufacturability reviews, prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, design verification, and manufacturing transfer.
• Maintain PCB libraries and documentation, resolve supplier and production issues, and mentor engineers and designers.

Requirements

• Associate degree or technical diploma in electronics, engineering technology, PCB design, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Eight or more years of professional PCB design experience, including ownership of complex multilayer designs through production release.
• Experience with controlled impedance, high-speed differential routing, stack-ups, signal-return paths, low-noise analog and mixed-signal layout, rigid-flex boards, microvias, blind and buried vias, and fine-pitch BGA placement.
• Proficiency with professional electronic CAD tools and component-library management; experience with Altium Designer is preferred.
• Knowledge of IPC standards, design for manufacturability, design for assembly, design for test, and regulated product development.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with medical devices or laboratory instrumentation.
• IPC Designer, Certified Interconnect Designer, or Advanced Certified Interconnect Designer certification.
