Quality Engineer, EDU/Drive Unit (Electric Vehicles)

Location: Garden Grove, California, United States; on-site role with up to 30% travel.

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Monitor EDU and drive unit quality metrics, process data, and warranty data to identify and escalate high-impact issues.
• Lead data-driven root cause analysis, corrective actions, and validation with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Develop quality standards, control systems, inspection criteria, quality gates, and supplier and manufacturing quality protocols.
• Conduct inspections, testing, technical investigations, equipment buyoff, and statistical analysis for materials, processes, and products.
• Drive continuous improvement, lessons learned, scalable quality tools, and corrective action effectiveness metrics.
• Participate in design reviews, MRB meetings, and engineering change control for electric vehicle drive unit systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Three to five years of manufacturing quality or supplier quality engineering experience involving powertrain or equivalent products.
• Experience with quality management systems, supplier and internal audits, APQP, SPC, GR&R, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans.
• Proficiency in ISO 9001:2018 or IATF 16949 is highly desired.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Understanding of electric vehicle drive unit technology and general assembly is highly preferred.

Nice to have

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Manager, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
