Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Contract)

What you will do

• Perform high-complexity laboratory tests, analyses, procedures, and patient-result reporting according to approved procedures.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems that may affect test performance.
• Manufacture and qualify reagents and document activities according to approved procedures.
• Verify instrument performance through inspection, calibration, and maintenance.
• Train new and existing laboratory personnel on current and new procedures.
• Collaborate with automation, assay development, and technology transfer scientists to build scalable clinical laboratory infrastructure and launch clinical products.

Requirements

• Active, valid California CLS or CGMBS license, or an appropriate California medical, osteopathic, or podiatric license, as required for the specialty.
• Must fulfill the requirements of 42 CFR 493.1489 or 493.1491 and the College of American Pathologists Molecular Pathology Checklist.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Science, or an equivalent field.
• At least 2 years of clinical laboratory experience or equivalent high-complexity, high-volume laboratory experience, including laboratory work within the past year.
• Experience with next-generation sequencing, molecular biology techniques, and automated liquid handlers.
• Ability to communicate complex technical results to cross-functional audiences and working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.
