Clinical Lab Scientist I (Molecular Biology)

Location: San Carlos, California, United States; onsite work in a BSL-2 laboratory

Base pay: $44.42–$58 USD per hour, plus additional compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Verify specimens and perform clinical laboratory tests using approved methods and procedures.
• Analyze specimens efficiently and accurately while maintaining knowledge of laboratory methods.
• Maintain instruments and equipment, troubleshoot common errors, and escalate malfunctions.
• Identify, document, and escalate protocol deviations and participate in standard operating procedure updates.
• Perform quality control and regulatory documentation activities to support accurate clinical data.
• Communicate with laboratory teams and other departments, assist teammates, and provide feedback on daily work.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory environment.
• BS/BA degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
• Current California CLS Generalist license or CGMBS license required.
• Experience in molecular biology, along with pipetting, computer, data management, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a BSL-2 laboratory, stand or sit for extended periods, and work weekends or overtime when required.
• Ability to distinguish colors visually or evaluate cellular morphology when applicable and pass the required screening assessment.
