Accounting Manager, General Ledger & OPEX (AI)

Location: San Francisco, hybrid

Salary: $130K–$190K annually, plus equity and bonus

What you will do

• Design and own the general ledger close process, including reconciliations, accruals, balance-sheet flux reviews, and a quarterly schedule that becomes more automated over time.
• Build multi-entity consolidation and intercompany elimination processes for entities in the US, UK, Spain, and Brazil, including foreign currency translation and CTA calculations.
• Own OPEX accounting, including expense accruals, prepaid amortization, and budget-to-actual variance analysis with FP&A.
• Reconcile AP feeds from Ramp and payroll feeds from Rippling against the general ledger.
• Identify and eliminate repetitive close work using system automation and AI finance tools, applying judgment about where human review remains necessary.
• Establish internal controls and reconciliation documentation for the first external audit and manage GL-related auditor requests.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of progressive general ledger and OPEX accounting experience, ideally including multi-entity or international consolidation.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar in day-to-day work.
• Strong understanding of foreign currency translation under ASC 830, intercompany accounting, and consolidation mechanics.
• Ability to operate autonomously, make GL policy decisions, and design scalable accounting systems.
• Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain close mechanics to non-finance stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA is a plus but not required.
