Senior Manager, Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States

Base salary: $238,000–$280,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the IQ Platform team, set technical direction, coach engineers, and own major platform initiatives end to end.
• Define the vision and architecture for the context layer that powers AI agent workflows.
• Build and scale knowledge management systems, external integrations, and RAG pipelines.
• Design self-improving context systems that learn from usage, feedback, and new data.
• Write and review code while mentoring engineers and raising technical standards.
• Partner with Staff-level engineers, Product, Design, and other Engineering teams on complex platform and systems-design problems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated people leadership and ownership of technical architecture.
• Strong systems design and architecture experience building production platforms or infrastructure at scale.
• Working knowledge of AI concepts including LLMs, agents, copilots, tokens, context windows, RAG, and data governance.
• Ability to work with Staff-level engineers on ambiguous architectural and systems-design problems.
• Must be located in the United States; the role is fully remote within the US.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and applied LLM systems.
• RAG expertise, including retrieval pipelines, embedding strategies, and evaluation.
• Familiarity with LangChain or similar LLM frameworks.
