Senior Manager, Engineering – AI & Innovation

Location: Remote in Canada or the USA

Salary: CAD 130,000–160,000 or USD 140,000–170,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead, hire, coach, and grow the AI & Innovation function, including performance management, career development, and organizational design.
• Translate enterprise AI strategy into quarterly roadmaps for Innovation Crew and Launch Lab, balancing proof-of-concept delivery, Power Agents, AI Standards, emerging technology, and production hand-offs.
• Own the intake process, operating cadence, escalations, and delivery decisions when stakeholder demand exceeds team capacity.
• Build effective partnerships with DevOps & AppSec and Cloud Engineering to support CI/CD, infrastructure, and application security needs.
• Manage executive reporting for proof-of-concept velocity, Power Agents adoption, engineering hours saved, AI Standards compliance, and DORA metrics.
• Lead agent lifecycle management and cross-functional initiatives including AI Everywhere, agentic AI framework maturity, and Snowflake AI/ML integration.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a demonstrated record of directly managing engineers.
• Experience leading or scaling an AI/ML, platform, or innovation-focused engineering function, including agentic AI, LLM-based systems, or prototype-to-production delivery.
• Experience partnering with VP-level or executive leaders to create executable, resourced roadmaps and make prioritization decisions.
• Experience owning delivery metrics and KPIs and reporting them to senior leadership on a recurring basis.
• Hands-on familiarity with agent frameworks, internal agent libraries, or MCP/A2A-style integration patterns is preferred for technical collaboration with AI engineering leadership.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country where employment is offered; employment sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Snowflake, AWS, DevOps, and application security disciplines.
• Experience leading teams across both 0-to-1 prototyping and applied production delivery.
• Existing relationships across engineering, product, legal, information security, or business units at hirify.global.
