AMHS Equipment Engineer

Location: On-site in Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. The role may require flexible work hours, working at heights, entering permit-required confined spaces, and walking long distances in a cleanroom environment.

Annual salary: $128,880–$211,200 USD.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, validate, debug, and sustain software solutions for automated material handling and storage systems.
• Work with firmware, drivers, operating systems, databases, firewalls, and algorithms to improve system performance.
• Support the integration, installation, qualification, and startup of AMHS and manufacturing equipment.
• Enable automated movement and storage of semiconductor wafers and reticles across Oregon foundry campuses.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, manage escalations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with IT services, manufacturing customers, operations teams, equipment engineering teams, and project stakeholders to integrate new products and deliver automation capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related STEM field with 3+ years of work experience, or a master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
• At least 1 year of experience using model-based problem-solving techniques.
• At least 1 year of experience with CAD, CAM, or CAE tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, factory engineering, or equipment operations is relevant to the role.
• Ability to adjust working hours to support critical manufacturing operations and work in a cleanroom environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with factory physics, theory of constraints, product lifecycle management, and mechanical design.
• VB scripting, SQL query development, Python, Perl, Power BI, or PowerApps experience.
• Experience with distributed-system debugging, performance tuning, Log Analyzer, or high-availability on-call support.
• Knowledge of DFM, DOE, FMEA, Lean Six Sigma, statistical analysis, or gauge study analytics.
• Project or program management experience and familiarity with tools such as JMP or Excel Pivot Tables.
