Distinguished Technical Program Manager (AI)

Location: Walmart Home Office, Bentonville, Arkansas, United States

Annual salary: $130,000–$260,000, plus performance bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead strategy, planning, and end-to-end delivery of company-wide, multi-year technical initiatives spanning dozens of organizations and hundreds of engineers.
• Partner with senior engineers and architects on technical strategy, system availability, performance, and delivery timelines.
• Own highly ambiguous 0-to-1 initiatives without established precedent.
• Identify organizational silos and systemic friction, then build scalable and repeatable workflows.
• Advise executive leaders and board members while mentoring and advancing the technical program management discipline.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience driving complex strategic programs and cross-functional technical outcomes, including 2+ years at a Principal or equivalent highly senior individual-contributor level.
• Extensive expertise in system architecture, software development, and infrastructure design.
• Demonstrated data-driven decision-making and proactive risk mitigation.
• Experience delivering massive-scale, mission-critical software or infrastructure programs from inception through global deployment.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and ability to lead without authority across multiple VP-level organizations.
• Either a relevant bachelor's degree with 7 years of related experience, or 9 years of related experience.

• Project management certification.
• Master's degree in business administration with a relevant specialization.
• Experience with inclusive digital experiences, WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
