Controller (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead financial accounting, cost accounting, tax, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, monitor performance, and provide financial insights to support business decisions and profitability improvements.
• Oversee inventory valuation, capital planning, cost reduction initiatives, internal controls, audits, risk mitigation, and corporate governance compliance.
• Manage Mexican and U.S. import/export compliance, including customs documentation, tariff classifications, duties, taxes, permits, certifications, and rules of origin under USMCA/T-MEC.
• Lead, coach, evaluate, and develop finance employees while partnering with executive leadership and other departments.
• Drive financial transformation, process automation, digitalization, and IT financial control initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing accounting and financial management experience and 10 years of progressive finance or controllership leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican and U.S. accounting principles, cost accounting, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, tax, customs, and international trade requirements.
• Experience with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Dynamics, plus advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, written and verbal.

Nice to have

• CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent professional certification.
• Experience in multinational manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
