Project Engineer I (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; primarily office or hybrid work with occasional travel to customer or field locations

Estimated starting salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year

What you will do

• Support planning, coordination, and execution of engineering activities for product development projects.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and milestone tracking.
• Provide technical support and coordinate with external customers and field-based personnel.
• Prepare project status reports, identify risks, and support mitigation planning.
• Maintain design specifications, test plans, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 8+ years of engineering experience and knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Basic understanding of requirements management, system design, and integration.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment, travel occasionally, and visit potentially hazardous project sites.

Nice to have

• 2–4 years of leadership or project management experience.
• Experience with MS Project, JIRA, project estimates, technical proposals, and cost and schedule management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary development teams and communicating with program management and customers.
• INCOSE certification or experience, technical drawing and schematic interpretation skills, and aerospace or defense industry experience.
