What you will do

  • Lead systems engineering activities across the product lifecycle, from concept development through design, integration, verification, launch, and operational support.
  • Develop system verification and validation strategies, methods, acceptance criteria, verification configurations, and evidence packages.
  • Maintain requirements traceability matrices, verification cross-reference matrices, and technical documentation.
  • Partner with integration and test teams to plan and execute system integration and verification activities, evaluate results, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support technical planning, program increment planning, staffing assessments, milestone reviews, customer meetings, and risk management.
  • Mentor junior engineers and improve systems engineering processes and technical rigor.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work on U.S. government-regulated space technology: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying protected status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, systems, electrical, mechanical, computer engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience, with an emphasis on space-based communication payloads.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, the systems development lifecycle, requirements management, systems architecture, interface management, integration, and configuration management.
  • Experience with verification and validation, technical requirements interpretation, analytical troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Effective written, verbal, organizational, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with spacecraft mission planning, launch support, on-orbit operations, system integration, or mission readiness.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated engineering programs.
