Registered Nurse-Psychiatric Full Time Days

Location: 12251 S. 80th Av., Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite day shift

Salary: USD 34.50–55.20 per hour

What you will do

• Provide individualized, age-specific psychiatric nursing care from admission through discharge.
• Assess patient status, identify care needs, validate diagnoses, and initiate individualized plans of care.
• Prioritize evidence-based nursing interventions and monitor patient responses and progress.
• Educate patients and families and begin discharge planning at admission.
• Collaborate with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals on care planning and continuity.
• Present relevant patient information at multidisciplinary meetings and make referrals when needed.

Requirements

• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; an Associate Degree in Nursing is accepted with a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of starting the clinical nurse role.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, collaboration, documentation, and patient-education skills.
• External ADN candidates are not currently considered for RN openings at Palos Hospital; internal ADN candidates may apply.

Nice to have

• Experience in the specific clinical area.
• Additional emergency, pediatric emergency, or cardiology certifications where applicable, including ACLS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC, TNS, or specialty nursing certifications.
