Systems Engineer I (For 2026 Interns Only)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; hybrid work environment with occasional travel.

What you will do

• Assist with requirements engineering, systems integration, verification and validation, and model-based systems engineering tasks.
• Support system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management under supervision.
• Contribute to architecture and design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Use systems modeling and simulation tools and support requirements management activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate project information effectively.
• Develop foundational systems engineering skills while contributing to ISR and aviation programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of systems modeling and simulation tools and multiple engineering principles.
• Conceptual knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, systems design, integration, technical risk management, and V&V principles.
• Experience or familiarity with multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Internship or cooperative education experience in systems engineering.
• Experience with DOORS, Cameo, or MATLAB.
• Knowledge of classical systems engineering and MBSE design principles.
• INCOSE ASEP experience or certification.
• Exposure to baseline maturation, trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and Technical Performance Measurements.
