Systems Engineer I (Aerospace)

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States; hybrid work environment with occasional travel.

What you will do

• Assist with requirements engineering, systems integration, verification and validation, and MBSE activities.
• Support system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management under supervision.
• Contribute to architecture and design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Support the development and modernization of the Survivable Airborne Operations Center aircraft.
• Communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 or more years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of systems modeling and simulation tools and multiple engineering principles.
• Conceptual knowledge of requirements management, systems design, integration, technical risk management, and V&V principles.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

• Internship or cooperative education experience in systems engineering.
• Experience with DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB, or other systems modeling and requirements management tools.
• Knowledge of classical systems engineering, MBSE, INCOSE standards, or ASEP certification.
• Experience with baseline definition, trade studies, analysis of alternatives, or Technical Performance Measurements.
