Software Technical Program Manager (AI)

Location: Austin, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; or San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $200,000–$260,000 annual base salary, plus a 10% annual bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own quarterly software releases from planning and commitment through code freeze, qualification, and shipment.
• Build release plans covering feature commitments, freeze dates, qualification windows, ship criteria, and hardware schedules.
• Coordinate execution across compiler, system software, embedded, architecture, product, and hardware teams.
• Manage dependencies across the SDK, effcc compiler, optimized libraries, runtime interfaces, LLVM and toolchain versions, boards, and silicon.
• Establish and run release quality gates covering regressions, test coverage, benchmarks, documentation, and release notes.
• Surface risks, facilitate scope and schedule tradeoffs, document decisions, and provide executive release reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent; a master's degree or MBA is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering or program management, including hands-on experience with compilers, systems software, or embedded software.
• Strong experience with compiler toolchains, embedded SDKs, CI/CD, test coverage, performance benchmarking, and release engineering.
• Ability to build bottoms-up schedules, analyze critical paths, map dependencies, and influence technical decisions without authority.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including leading reviews with senior engineers and executives.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub, Linear, Jira, Notion, Confluence, and CI systems, plus working fluency with AI tools for program management.

Nice to have

• Technical program management experience on a first-generation silicon product.
• Familiarity with LLVM, MLIR, machine learning compilers, or language runtimes.
• Knowledge of dataflow, spatial, or other novel compute architectures.
• Experience managing pre-silicon software enablement using emulation or FPGA prototyping.
