Senior Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: US remote

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Own the AWS infrastructure for a new data platform using declarative, version-controlled infrastructure.
• Build and maintain the GitOps and continuous delivery deployment path.
• Design least-privilege credentials, network routes, and permissions for secure production data access.
• Establish observability and reliability practices for the platform.
• Administer Kubernetes workloads and automate operational processes, including autoscaling and self-healing.
• Partner with the security team in an environment containing protected health information and multiple tenants.

Requirements

• Deep AWS experience, including VPC networking, cross-region and cross-account data movement, private connectivity, and VPN.
• Ability to design least-privilege IAM access models.
• Experience with RDS, Aurora, SQL Server, read replicas, and S3 access patterns and bucket policies.
• Production-standard Terraform or CDK experience.
• Kubernetes administration and GitOps delivery with Argo CD or a similar tool.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and preferring automation over manual intervention.

Nice to have

• Cloud data warehouse platform administration.
• Database replication, particularly SQL Server.
• Managed messaging infrastructure such as RabbitMQ or Amazon MQ.
• Experience in healthcare or another regulated, audited environment.
