Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid role based within a 180-mile radius of Bloomington, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; Dunwoody, Georgia; or Tempe, Arizona, with regular office work required. Applicants must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $100,000–$142,000 per year, with potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of central platform engineering capabilities for Contact Center technology.
• Build developer platforms, golden paths, reusable workflows, and self-service capabilities for React, Node.js, Java, data, analytics, and GenAI workloads.
• Design standardized CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, quality gates, security scanning, deployment, and rollback capabilities.
• Develop reusable AWS Infrastructure as Code modules and automate application and environment provisioning.
• Integrate engineering workflows across GitHub, Jira, Slack, Confluence, AWS, and CI/CD tooling.
• Establish observability, reliability, SLO, resiliency, security, and operational-readiness patterns with SRE and product teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience supporting cloud infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or software delivery automation.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CDK, and AWS cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, pull-request workflows, reusable workflows, automated testing, and release automation.
• Experience supporting Java, Node.js, React, and/or data workloads.
• Experience with observability, reliability, DevSecOps, IAM, secrets management, and automated security controls.
• Experience enabling AI/GenAI workloads through delivery automation, evaluation, guardrails, observability, and operational monitoring.

Nice to have

• Experience with internal developer platforms, golden paths, developer self-service, containers, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, or AWS Lambda.
• Knowledge of SRE practices, including SLIs/SLOs, resiliency, incident management, root-cause analysis, and performance engineering.
• Experience with data platforms, data pipelines, APIs, enterprise integration patterns, Amazon Connect, governance, compliance, or policy-as-code.
