Maintenance Diesel Technician B (Diesel Equipment)

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment under the supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager.
• Service chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical controls, air and hydraulic brakes, engines, suspension, drivetrains, steering systems, and HVAC components.
• Perform preventative maintenance, basic tire work, line maintenance welding, and fabrication.
• Provide road service when needed to return company equipment to safe and efficient operation.
• Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify equipment malfunctions and complete required company training.

Requirements

• Three to five years of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience with or knowledge of Classes 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of vehicle suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, and diesel emissions.
• Valid driver’s license required. Commercial Driver’s License and ASE T1–T8 certifications are advantageous but not required.
