Diesel Shop Technician B

Location: Aulander, NC, USA; on-site maintenance and occasional road service required.

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, refuse bodies, and related equipment.
• Service chassis, suspension, drivetrain, steering, braking, hydraulic, electrical, HVAC, and light engine systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, basic tire work, welding, and fabrication.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools.
• Provide safe on-site and road-service repairs to return company equipment to operation.
• Complete company training and other assigned maintenance duties.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of technician experience with gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience or knowledge maintaining Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of suspension and steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Nice to have

• Automotive Service Excellence certifications T1–T8.
• Commercial Driver’s License.
