Senior Principal Security Architect (Cybersecurity)

Location: Houston, Texas; the workplace model requires at least four full days each week in an hirify.global office. The description also lists Charlottetown for the salary range.

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 CAD per year, plus incentive pay.

What you will do

• Define and execute enterprise security architecture strategies, standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and guidelines.
• Partner with business leaders, enterprise architects, engineering teams, and security stakeholders to integrate security into cloud adoption and technology transformation initiatives.
• Define security requirements and assess controls across data protection, identity and access management, monitoring, infrastructure, networks, and incident response.
• Research emerging technologies and security products, and recommend remediation actions that reduce risk and advance security maturity.
• Review and approve security designs, configurations, baselines, and technical standards as a subject matter expert.
• Mentor security architects and technical teams while communicating complex security concepts to technical and business audiences.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive IT experience, including 10+ years in cybersecurity, security architecture, and enterprise architecture.
• 5+ years working with cloud delivery platforms, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, with AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Strong experience in cloud security, Zero Trust, networking, identity and access management, data protection, AI platforms, and risk management.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide security initiatives and expertise in at least two technology domains, such as infrastructure, application security, network security, IAM, data protection, endpoint security, or AI security.
• Knowledge of NIST, CSA CCM, and CIS Critical Security Controls, plus architecture modeling with notation such as ArchiMate.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and CISSP or equivalent certification; willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Enterprise architecture certification such as TOGAF or SABSA.
• CCSP, CCSK, AWS, or Microsoft Azure certifications.
