Security Architect (Cloud Security)

Location: Newton, Massachusetts, USA; in-person work is required three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home or remotely on other days

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Own and evolve enterprise security architecture, roadmaps, reference architectures, governance frameworks, standards, and security metrics.
• Design cloud and infrastructure security across AWS, GCP, hybrid, and on-premises environments, including IAM, Zero Trust, network segmentation, SIEM, vulnerability management, and threat detection.
• Lead secure software development and DevSecOps initiatives, integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines and supporting secure application architecture.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk analyses, security assessments, audits, and incident response while driving remediation and continuous improvement.
• Lead security architecture for emerging technologies, including AI and LLM initiatives, and advise leaders on security risks and technology decisions.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, and executive leadership while mentoring technical teams and producing security documentation and control matrices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience with deep cloud security expertise and a track record leading enterprise security architecture in multi-cloud environments.
• Strong expertise in AWS and GCP security, organization policies, automated threat detection, centralized logging and SIEM, least-privilege IAM, VPC and perimeter controls, data exfiltration prevention, and encryption/key management.
• Experience with web application security testing, network vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, container and Kubernetes security, Docker, and tools such as Trivy or Aqua Security.
• Knowledge of Secure SDLC, DevSecOps, Unix operating systems, NIST, COBIT, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and SOX.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, plus strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead security discussions with system architects and business leaders; CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification is expected.
