CICS Systems Programmer (Infrastructure Engineering Senior Advisor)

Location: Remote work from Connecticut

Salary: $123,500–$205,800 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus plan.

What you will do

• Lead the design, engineering, implementation, and continuous improvement of complex CICS infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale enterprise mainframe initiatives from strategy through execution.
• Build, support, maintain, and optimize highly available CICS environments and associated system software.
• Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
• Evaluate technologies, improve performance and resiliency, and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Provide technical guidance and participate in scheduled on-call support for high-priority production events.

Requirements

• 10+ years of CICS systems programming experience in enterprise mainframe environments.
• Advanced knowledge of CICS architecture, internals, administration, performance tuning, and CICSPlex environments.
• Hands-on experience with z/OS, DB2 Data Sharing, MQ Shared Queue Managers, and REXX.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and coordinating work across multiple teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to support a 24x7 production environment, including scheduled on-call responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master-level expertise with CICSPlex and related OEM products.
• Experience influencing infrastructure strategy and technology roadmaps.
• Experience as a technical consultant or advisor in large-scale enterprise environments.
