Senior Mainframe Technical Engineer (z/OS)

Location: Remote-based in Pennsylvania, United States; US citizenship required due to contractual and access requirements.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, code, test, and implement technical solutions for critical mainframe systems.
• Provide production monitoring, support, troubleshooting, and technical analysis in a highly available environment.
• Collaborate with IT, product, analytics, business, and architecture stakeholders to align solutions with enterprise standards.
• Document technical processes, participate in reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions, and report project progress and risks.
• Work with vendors to resolve software and systems issues and support platform improvements.
• Mentor associate and intermediate technical engineers.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Expert-level IBM z/OS mainframe systems programming experience, including SMP/E, DB2, IMS, and CICS.
• 10+ years of experience with IBM z/Series mainframes.
• At least 5 years of experience analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing technical solutions.
• Strong technical problem-solving, communication, project management, analytical, and collaboration skills.
• Availability for off-hours, weekends, and scheduled 24x7x365 on-call responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with Java, Cogno, PEGA, enterprise architecture, or project management.
