Data Center Engineer (Fintech)

Location: On-site at the Secaucus, New Jersey data center, United States; the role is listed as flex/hybrid and may also involve locations in New York. Rotating second shift, Monday through Saturday, with shifts generally from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM and Saturday day-shift assignments. On-call coverage, shift rotations, and US holiday coverage may be required.

Base salary: $93,500–$121,000 annually, plus possible annual incentive compensation and a 10% shift differential depending on the shift.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, rack, remove, and troubleshoot servers, network devices, storage systems, and associated cabling in colocation facilities.
• Perform structured copper, multimode fiber, and single-mode fiber cabling, including testing, routing, labeling, cross-connects, and documentation.
• Execute large-scale MAC activities, including equipment installations, moves, rack upgrades, and cable changes.
• Monitor and escalate data center environmental issues involving power, cooling, temperature, fire, and building security systems.
• Work with Engineering, Operations, and NOC teams to resolve hardware, application, connectivity, and data center incidents.
• Maintain inventories, rack elevations, cable maps, operational standards, vendor coordination, shipping, RMAs, and expansion projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data center support experience in a colocation environment.
• Experience with large-scale MAC work, server, storage, and network equipment, and cable plant design and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with copper, multimode fiber, and single-mode fiber systems and industry-standard cable testing tools.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, power, fire, building security, safety systems, telecommunications technologies, systems, and circuits.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work in data center environments for extended periods, manage multiple projects, and work independently.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship and must be willing to work onsite in Secaucus.
