Registered Nurse, RN - Short Stay Unit

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Short Stay Unit - Main Campus, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Full-time night schedule: 36 hours, 7 p.m.–7 a.m.

Salary: $37.50–$68.47 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide direct professional nursing care to patients and families according to physician orders, policies, and established practices.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Use nursing judgment to adapt care plans to patient needs and changing health conditions.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and coordinate discharge plans, referrals, and community resources.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate care based on patient needs and team member skills, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Support performance improvement, evidence-based practice, professional development, staff precepting, and departmental committees.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient population may be required.
• RN experience must meet the applicable Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway level: Level I, II, III, or IV.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Knowledge and application of the nursing process; ability to lift and maneuver patients and work prolonged periods standing and walking.
