Mechanical Analyst (Aerospace): Developing structural, thermal, and mechanical analyses for satellite, UAV, launch vehicle, and other space and airborne platforms with an accent on finite element analysis, stress evaluation, thermal management, and mechanical performance. Focus on resolving complex engineering challenges, conducting verification and validation, and improving structural integrity, reliability, and manufacturability.

What you will do

  • Develop structural analyses for components, assemblies, and mechanical systems using analytical methods and finite element analysis.
  • Perform stress, load, margin of safety, fatigue, vibration, buckling, thermal, and mechanical analyses.
  • Support verification, qualification, testing, and validation activities across the product development lifecycle.
  • Evaluate engineering data, test results, drawings, CAD models, materials, and analytical models to resolve engineering challenges.
  • Recommend root-cause investigations, engineering changes, corrective actions, and structural improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams across multiple programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, civil, or related engineering with 5–8 years of related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 3–6 years or a PhD with 0–3 years.
  • Advanced knowledge of structural mechanics, stress analysis, mechanics of materials, and finite element analysis.
  • Experience with static, dynamic, vibration, fatigue, buckling, and structural load analyses.
  • Knowledge of thermal management, mechanical design, material properties, failure theories, fracture mechanics, margin of safety calculations, GD&T, verification, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with FEA, structural analysis, CAD, and engineering software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, HyperMesh, or Creo.
  • Must meet U.S. Government space technology export-control eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-person status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
