Structural Engineer III (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead the design and analysis of advanced metallic and composite aerospace structures.
• Develop and oversee structural test plans and execution.
• Perform detailed static and dynamic structural analyses and identify design improvements.
• Integrate structural designs with multidisciplinary aircraft and defense systems teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate technical information, specifications, and project updates.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, civil engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 6+ years of structural engineering experience or related experience.
• Advanced understanding of structural analysis and design principles, including static and/or dynamic analysis.
• Knowledge of computer-aided engineering tools and experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required for employment because an active U.S. security clearance is needed.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, Professional Engineering license, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with FEA tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS.
• Experience with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis using NASGRO or AFGROW.
• Experience authoring substantiation reports and performing classical hand calculations.
• Background in aerospace and defense, with familiarity with FAA, NASA, or DoD regulations.
