Secondary Assembly Specialist

Location: 641 NY-13, Cortland, New York, USA; onsite manufacturing facility

What you will do

• Safely operate mechanical equipment and hand tools to assemble units, systems, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
• Read drawings, blueprints, work orders, and technical instructions to plan builds and identify required materials.
• Build, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical assemblies before shipment.
• Install refractory, insulation, pneumatic, and hydraulic components, including valves and regulators.
• Perform finishing work, including sanding, sandblasting, painting, and equipment preparation for shipment.
• Conduct dimensional inspections and quality-control procedures while maintaining required tolerances.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or TASC.
• At least one year of preferred experience in mechanical troubleshooting and repair, electronics assembly or repair, manufacturing assembly, blueprint and schematic reading, or use of power and hand tools.
• Ability to read complex mechanical drawings, blueprints, work orders, and technical instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude, spatial reasoning, and ability to perform measurements and convert between US Standard and metric systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certifications for forklifts, overhead cranes, electric pallet jacks, and other industrial equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, perform repetitive hand movements, frequently lift or move more than 50 pounds, and wear required PPE.
