Composite Technician (Multiple Levels)

Location: Alameda HQ, United States; on-site

Salary: Technician Level I: $29–32/hour; Technician Level II: $35–39/hour, plus equity.

What you will do

• Complete secondary processing of composite components from external vendors and help establish scalable workflows.
• Bond, fasten, and assemble composite structures, sub-assemblies, and hardware using drawings and standard operating procedures.
• Prepare carbon fiber, fiberglass, and core materials according to ply patterns.
• Perform wet layup lamination on molds, avoiding voids and wrinkles.
• Prepare molds and fixtures, then trim, sand, deburr, and finish cured parts with hand and power tools.
• Inspect finished parts, document quality checks, maintain an organized work area, and follow PPE and safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent trade school certificate.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and comfort using basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings, work instructions, and measurements, or willingness to learn.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with resins, adhesives, and dust while using required PPE.
• Precision-oriented approach, dependability, punctuality, teamwork, and strong listening and communication skills.
• Employment is subject to continued government authorization for access to export-controlled technology, software, and information.

Nice to have

• Experience in assembly, manufacturing, automotive repair, carpentry, or construction.
• Familiarity with epoxy, resins, gel coats, or body shop fillers.
• Basic knowledge of calipers and tape measures.
