Wind Technician (Wind Energy)

Location: On-site at Stoney Corners Wind Farm in McBain, Michigan, United States. Travel up to 15% to district sites, U.S. training facilities, and additional locations is required.

What you will do

• Service, maintain, and repair wind turbines at the Stoney Corners Wind Farm.
• Improve daily maintenance and operational tasks to support wind farm performance.
• Use electrical systems, PLC programming, and converters to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Perform physically demanding work, including climbing ladders and stairs, overhead work, lifting, and prolonged standing or walking.
• Work safely and collaboratively in hazardous conditions involving vibration, chemicals, confined spaces, and extreme weather.
• Travel to district sites and U.S. training facilities as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with electrical systems, including PLC programming and converters.
• Ability to prioritize work, analyze problems, and resolve issues independently.
• Ability to work safely in a team environment and meet the physical demands of the position, including a body weight limit of 265 pounds or less and successful completion of a physical examination.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
• Valid passport and driver's license required for travel.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic work.
• College degree or equivalent competency in electrical, mechanical, or wind-farm-related systems.
